Pregnancy massage is a natural, safe and incredibly relaxing treatment for mums to be who are through the first trimester.
Whilst it is very similar to a regular massage Pregnancy Massage at Aurello is designed to improve some of the discomforts commonly felt during pregnancy such as:
Muscle pain, headaches, leg cramps, stiffness, sciatica, back pain, neck pain, hip joint and sacroiliac pain, constipation and many more.
Your appointment will include a consultation so that your medical history, lifestyle, skin type, aches and pains and needs can be understood.
There is an allowance of 20 minutes within your appointment for settling in, your consultation and taking it slow at the end.
The full body massage itself will last for 60 minutes.
You will be safely positioned on your left side (which provides ultimate blood flow to the uterus and baby) while you have your back & shoulders massaged.
You will then gently move to an upright position on your back for your legs, bump, arms, neck and head can be massaged. If you wish not to have certain parts of your body massaged I can leave them out.
You will be appropriately supported with cushions throughout providing ultimate comfort.
No strong aromas are used in the treatment room during your session and every effort is made so that you do not feel too hot.
For hygiene reasons you must wear socks to and from your appointment.
You may wish to tell your midwife you plan to have a massage and make sure they give a full thumbs up before you attend.
.
You will be given after care advice after every treatment, this will be individual to you. However it will always include:
1. Drinking more water - this helps flush toxins through the body (I know you already have to pee so much but trust me this will help you to reap all the massage benefits!)
2. Try to take life a bit easier for the next 24 hours, be kind to yourself.
An aftercare email will be sent to you automatically after your appointment as a reminder.
