What is Indian Head Massage?
A deeply calming and relaxing massage to mainly the Head but does include upper back, shoulders, neck and face.
You will start on your front where pressure of your preferred firmness is applied through massage to your upper back, shoulders and head.
Half way through you move onto your back where your neck, chest, head again and then your face are massaged leaving you feeling absolutely wonderful.
For clients with mobility issues or trouble laying down I can adapt the treatment to a sitting position, please just send me an email.
This treatment is safe in pregnancy, please select add on 'Pregnancy' at the booking stage so I can adjust the treatment accordingly.
Indian head massage originated in India as part of the practice of Ayurveda medicine and remains very much a part of every day family life. Ayurveda aims to balance the bodies energies and promote a long healthy life. It was brought to the west in the 1970s and we are so grateful!

Your Appointment
Your first appointment will include a 5 minute consultation so that your medical history, concerns and needs can be understood.
The treatment lasts 30 minutes.
Oils will be used in your hair, therefore plan your appointment carefully around other commitments.
For an extra boost add: 'Aromatherapy' This will consist of a bespoke blend of essential oils chosen for your needs diffused in the room and used on your Head, Face & Neck.
If you have hair below the jawline please bring a hair band and a hairbrush with you. You can then brush your hair immediately before the treatment (To get rid of any knots) and have it tied back while I massage your neck and shoulders.
Please note this is a Female only treatment.
For hygiene reasons socks must be worn to and from your appointment.
After Care
Your therapist will give you after care advice after every treatment, it will always include:
1. Drinking more water - this helps flush toxins through the body
2. Try to take life a bit easier for the next 24 hours, be kind to yourself.
Indian Head Massage After Care:
- Leave the oil in your hair as long as possible to soak in all the benefits and nutrients.
- When you wash your hair put the shampoo in before getting your hair wet, this helps to get the oil out.
An aftercare email will be sent to you automatically after your appointment as a reminder.
