Gua Sha
Gua sha is a type of scraping technique applied with an instrument (Jade Tool).
The face is pressed and stroked with the tool in a repetitive motion until a light 'sha' appears (red blushing). Gua sha causes a whopping 400% increase in micro perfusion of blood which is a huge detoxification level.
What it works to achieve:
- Improve the flow of blood, fluids and Qi which in turn nourishes the skin helping it to look younger and fresher
- Wrinkle and Scar reduction
- Drains toxins and stagnation
- Clears blockages
- Causes a non invasive healing response
- Encourages new skin growth which in turn reduces scarring and clogged pores, helps to control acne and breakouts and generally rejuvenates the skin.
- Improves collagen and elastin production
Cupping
Facial Cupping works at a deeper level than Gua Sha, it involves the use of suction cups which work to force the oxygen rich blood to move towards the surface of the skin and separate all of the skin layers.
This separation causes the breakdown of stagnation and adhesions in addition to proper flushing between each layer. Subsequently cells can better regulate, collagen and elastin are stimulated and deep detoxification can take place.
Cupping also causes micro trauma, which despite sounding like a bad thing it is a very good thing because it allows the creation of new cells and a deep healing response, essentially fixing problem areas.
It is such a rejuvenating technique.
In summary Cupping:
- Breaks down stagnant cells such as wrinkles, scars and fat then heals those areas
- Oxygenates the tissue creating a healthier and livelier complexion.

Indonesian Facial Lift
Not widely taught or practised in the UK you will be hard pushed to find a practitioner offering this technique straight from Indonesia. I would like to describe it as a sort of deep tissue for the face, It’s all about lifting and sculpting, working perfectly with the Gua Sha & Cupping to create a powerhouse facial.
Your Appointment & Things to know before booking
Your appointment will be for 1 hour 15 minutes, 15 minutes of which is reserved for your consultation.
Each treatment is tailored specifically to your skin concerns and needs.
This treatment is not suitable if:
-You are taking blood or skin thinning medication (Warafin/Steroid)
-You have had facial fillers
- You have had botox in the last 14 days
It is quite normal to have redness and marking/bruising for several days after your treatment, It doesn't happen to everyone and depends on your skin type but please bear this is mind when scheduling
Taking Aspirin and Omega oils in the three days leading up to your treatment may accelerate bruising please avoid these.
Is one facial enough?
The answer to that is no.
I would love for one facial to be enough for your face to appear exactly how you would like it to but that is just not realistic.
If you are looking to attend for specific facial concerns you will need to have a series of around 6-12 treatments for full effectiveness and longer term results.
You should aim for a treatment once a week for this time period. It may be that your skin is at a level where an appointment twice a week for the first two weeks is most beneficial, this will be identified in your first appointment.
Breaks in the series of treatments will delay effects and may then require additional appointments to catch up.
If you are looking to attend for some 'me time' and a general facial boost then 1-2 sessions will be lovely.
Cosmeceutical Products
Cosmecuetical products disperse through the skin as opposed to blocking it. The nature of the techniques used in this time of facial mean there is an increase in blood and Qi to the area so these products will be taken in so much more proficiently.
